Larissa Fast is Professor of Humanitarian and Conflict Studies and the Executive Director of the University of Manchester’s Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI). Larissa brings extensive experience in policy and practice to Insecurity Insight having previously worked at ODI’s Humanitarian Policy Group and as an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the US Agency for International Development.

Gareth Williams

Gareth Williams is a Director of The Policy Practice with a varied background in development work. Over the past twenty years he has been heavily engaged in developing and applying political economy approaches to development and governance problems. He brings a wide spectrum of knowledge about governance and civil society development, public financial management, health and education, agriculture and rural development and private sector development. He has worked in over 20 countries with a particular focus on Nigeria, Rwanda and recently Central Asia.

Ana Elisa Barbar

Ana Elisa Barbar is an expert on protection of healthcare, with a focus on safe health responses, civil-military relations and emergency preparedness. She has worked for almost a decade in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in different roles, but always connected to the wellbeing of health professionals and protection of healthcare in contexts of conflict or violence. Ana Elisa is a psychologist with a clinical license and a full residency in Primary Health Care and Health Systems Management, as well as an Executive Masters in Policy Making and International Negotiations.
